My work is an investigation into place and time and the nature of memory. My drawings bring together landscapes, figures and objects from different eras and locations. Transplanting these elements from one area to another, I seek to emphasise the sense of dislocation people may feel in their surrounding environments.

I'm interested in memories and the power of individual and collective memory.
This picture depicts an ancient and modern journey, where old memories are lost and new stories are formed. It explores people's movements through a landscape and the meaning and politics of belonging to a place. Connection with the landscape and its past is important for underlying the surface are shared events and forgotten histories.
